Re: Cathedral + Amulet 3 preview
Really cool illustrations! I like the different styles you use, quite a realistic style for your Single illustrations and this rich cartoon style for your comics. Very nice!

Re: Semmie the Forest gnome [Updated 19 jan]
Page 8 - Rope Layout wise this is one of the more boring pages, because of the 4 strips with small pictures. You just can’t have a big panel covering half the page on every page. Therefore I am very happy with the overall look of this page, especially the colors of the bedroom make this page look wa...

Re: 6-Commando
Great page M.!
That last panel with colonel Haulley is truly excellent! I have seen quite a few pictures with foreshortening in published work that are just “off” and yours is just spot on. Well done!
And the tank is simply awesome.

Re: 6-Commando
Those last four pages together make an awesome action sequence! I like little things like the driver pointing his gun at the soldier ripping out the door of his truck.
Oh and Mike is big! Really big!
As always can't wait to see it colored.

Re: Semmie the Forest gnome [Updated 8 jan]
Thanks M.! You are not the only one pointing out that this comic would read better with less dialogue. I haven't had time to try it but I am saving all these comments and implement them later to see how it reads. About the colors being sharper, you are probably right. My wife (who is a graphic desig...

Re: Semmie the Forest gnome [Updated 17 dec]
New Year new page! I am very happy with this page, panel 5 in particular where you look at the hallway from above in perspective. The line drawing was one of my favorites, but it’s just amazing in color. The striped wallpaper really helped creating depth in this panel. Keen to hear what you think. h...

Re: Sketch thread
Great illustrations! Especially the last "girl' one. Can't believe there no men who have found that poker room crowded with so many women. And I like to say that it's some really good advice you're giving about showing your sketches. It's a bit late, I know, since you already made another 8 posts si...

PAF!
Here it is page 5 of Semmie the forest gnome. The story is now really taking of and I can’t wait to start on the next few pages. Also because there are some “shots” in there that I am really proud of and I very anxious to see what they will look like in color. Please let me know what you think! http...

My thoughts exactly! I always try to learn something from people who I think do certain things better than me.I've implemented a whole host of things I've learned from them, other friends and a few things I've just discovered on my own. Nothing wrong with learning from the "masters"

They are indeed called zwarte Pieten, they are Sinterklaas 's sidekicks soto speak.
You have family that makes children’s books? That’s cool! Can you name a few titles?
