Hey Jake,
this one looks great, i really like it. The panel where he gets wiped out on the log is my favourite, you can really feel him slam into it.
Made me laugh, too.

I started reading this and I initially got this horrible feeling it was going to end with some horrible upskirt nonsense, and I am incredibly glad it didn't. (I imagined somekind of Beavis and Butthead reading of 'heh-heh , women's tennis is awesome, heh-heh). Maybe that says more about my expectati...

It's looking pretty good - I like the way you used the inset panels in the second row there, it works well. I definately agree with Scott about the snowflakes. I can imagine the pain it would be to go and do a million more of those things, but it would really help the atmosphere. I am really not sur...

this is really great. It's something that could have very easily been overly melodramatic, but you have avoided that nicely. And you sure can draw. Some of the panel transitions seemed a little uncomfortable (for want of a better word), like the top row on the second page, where the camera zooms in ...

the drawing in this one is a lot more confident, and it is a funny little strip - I like it. Initially i thought the guy was starting to get nauseous rather than hungry. Maybe make more of the icecreams the other people are eating, even just shifting his eyes in the first panel so he is looking righ...

that's a super cute strip, Mike. I remember when my kid's were that small, and I could actually, y'know, read books and stuff... sigh. Marc Hempel is great, someone we should probably all steal from. His run on Sandman was one of my favourites. He gets a little more geometric in his figures though, ...

I think the story is great, but yeah, I kind of agree that the 'trolloholic' thing doesn't work with the story. I think all you would have to do is just drop off those first two captions it would still work just fine. I really like that sort of sly, smug look on the troll in the last panel - but the...

I think the idea of this is great, and its very well executed. The linework is nice and fluid, I especially like the wobbly speech balloons and the lettering. I actually find myself disappointed that the robot actually woke up at the end. I thought the first page really worked, with the exchange bet...

This looks great, there's a softness to the linework and colours that I think is really nice. The backgrounds are a little off sometimes, like the beach cave thing and the sea look lovely, but some of the others, like the zoo(?) and the last page look a little underdrawn/underendered or something, a...

52 comic challenges?
Anyone know anything about this?
http://52comicchallenges.com/, I thought it sounded neat, but nothing seems to have materialized as yet...

Sorry Jake, didn't mean to go suggesting things that would mean more work, that was just inconsiderate of me. It's looking a lot better, the lines and blacks make it look more confident. I still would remove the head completely from the panel where he flips the switch - a moment where it looks like ...

I think it's neat, a funny idea. Couple things that bother me a little - I am not entirely sure I am sold on the 'grab' from the octopus, it maybe needs a little more 'pop' or something. Breaking the panel border is good, maybe even just pushing the angle a little more. The other thing is he looks a...

Comics on Badges
I have started playing around some more with this badge-maker my wife bought a while ago. I had made a few (it's kinda fun, this shiny blue metal thing with a big handle, it makes a satisfying clunk as you crank them through), but started trying out telling little stories with the badges. Not sure w...
