Chevalier- Thank you. How cool that the thousand-eyed girl showed up. No one's ever told me about anything like that happening before.

Kazu- Thank you! Actually, Mal did the colors. They're all soft and tasty like an ice cream cone. :)

"Tenderness"

My drawing, Mal's (http://www.radiomaru.com) beautiful coloring. It's a cover illustration for a selection of my pieces going into a webmagazine (http://www.nomagazine.com) next month.

I agree with you, Sweet_Baboo. I usually try to keep my food philosophies hidden, because a lot of people get needlessly defensive and hostile at the very mention of "I am vegetarian" or "I am vegan." I have no problems with people who eat meat or who eat it around me. Food is such a personal thing....

It's not the soy, it's me. You gotta trust me on this. I'll admit soy meat and milk are an aquired taste, but they grow on you pretty fast... That, and you learn which brands are good and which aren't; there are huge flavor variations. My experiences with Jewish food extend mostly to potato latkes w...

I'm a pretty awful cook, which is sad considering I cook 95% of my own food (I'm vegan). My problem is usually with seasoning...it baffles me. I don't have a touch for it, and unless I'm following a recipe or making a real effort I make everything garlic-flavored. Luckily I'm a passable baker. My ma...

I've heard of Marmite (http://www.gty.org/~phil/marmite.htm), which appears to be the same thing. My boyfriend was/is weirdly obsessed with it, and had a jar of it hidden in his room because his horrified roommates threatened to throw it away. I haven't tried it, but I took a whiff, and that was all I needed.

Thanks, Matthew. I'll try again soon, and then pester you mercilessly for help... My dream is to someday be totally free of the computer. I swear it'll happen someday.

You'll always be my inking idol. <3

No way am I better than you. You have lively, healthy, confident lines; I have dead lines. ^_^;; As for too many lines, yeah... I can never tell when to stop. It feels weird to be using lines in all the places where, in a painting, I'd use a color shift. Black and white is my arch-nemesis, but I'm d...

I'm just learning to ink with a brush, and ink period, which is frustrating but also...relaxing. I think this is a fairly honest self-portrait.

Beautiful. The thing that strikes me as a candidate for being "off" is your jawline. I must have done ten self portraits last year, and none of them looked like me. The last one I did was a big charcoal for a class, and the comment I remember was, "being hard on yourself, huh?" I guess that's better...
