Beautiful. Love the way the "lines" complement the "paint."

'nother spidey. I think a new personal rule is that I'm not going to draw any more superheroes for a while.

col-erase and white pencil.

Zidane, I think that's a good call, mostly. I once got a comment that a Jedi I drew looked anorexic. After looking up 'anorexic' in the dictionary, I went back and noticed that basically, the only thing I drew that looked properly fed was the Incredible Hulk. So yeah, I'm supposed to know all those ...

The problem I had with watercolors was that I always had to worry about the paper buckling, and had a very hard time actually getting down to it and painting.

Your stuff is very nice, especially the color blending and your reserving of whites.

This is all awesome. I am really a huge fan of the X-23 stuff... I would DL it all right now but I need sleep... so instead... I'm commenting that I'll bookmark it and come back later? yeah, I don't think well when I'm this spent. Anyhoo, sorry about your HD crash, but this stuff is an excellent way...

James, you're right about that right side ('hunk' is a good word.) Since I had a photo reference, I sorta "switched off" a lot of the stuff I should have been thinking of. I was trying to stick to a standard size (8x10). As for the contrast, yeah. Col-erase pencil and all that. Thanks for the commen...

Muffin - She's got her mom's eyes. Expressive = yes.

Frank - Haha, thanks. I've got to say this is the happiest I've been with a finished drawing in a long while.

Friend's Daughter

gomen kudasai! Sorry, I've wanted to be on here more often, but I'm so busy. Hope this makes up a little bit. Someone I worked with at the community college asked me about a commission of her daughter shortly before I graduated. She forgot about it, but I didn't. I started it around two weeks ago an...

Brush pen sketch on a card to a friend. I wish that movie had lived up to the trailers and posters.

I could have sworn I commented on this. You have a knack for some incredible storytelling. Also the whole "inventing a restaurant out of your head" thing is huge awesome. I gotta visit the boards more regularly.

Hi Ayo, sorry I've not commented on these before. You're putting a lot of background detail into these. That's great. A solid background adds depth. However, put your anatomy first and maybe your line quality too. In 123, angela's back looks kind of weird. The crease in the butt of her overalls look...

Frank, thanks for posting this.
Process journals are absolutely candy. I really like the way you blocked your textures with gouache. I should try that sometime.

To the Abyss with Harry Potter. I work in a bookstore. I didn't get home until after 2:00 AM. I did get an "Official Muggle Crew" Tshirt and a Slytherin house badge out of the deal, though the best part was where I was heading up our HP trivia contest.. and I've never read a single page of it....

Man... this is great. You kept the feel of the roughs perfectly... it's a shame I can't make it to the Con... it's on the other side of the continent :(
