Oh gosh. I'm going to totally run off at the mouth about how great these are, so let me just say that the line sketches are so awesome - they're energetic but without being messy. The horse studies look pretty good to me, and I really like that one with the messed-up neck for some reason. And the co...

Dustin - This turned out far better than I expected. I tested all the layering on separate paper first - it helps so much. Frank - You know me well. Yes, I 'burned' a whole other sheet trying to figure it out. Anteater - Thank you. I think my lighting works out better when I don't agonize over it so...

Here's the finish! Yes, this is watercolor pencils. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. The scan was a little too bright, so I brought down the brightness just a little bit.

There are some subtle issues with proportion and placement, but your attention to lighting is excellent! The face with the purple shadows looks like ?she has a black eye, but the lighting on the nose and lips is really well-rendered.

Spider-Girl Inks

I had some leftover watercolor paper drifting around my floor, so I drew a Spider-Girl on it. It took me days to get the body right - I may be a little rusty. *grimace* I inked it last night. After church today I was playing with watercolor pencils, and started painting the sketch. It's actually tur...

I love that first one. It's so atmospheric. I wish I had a forest like that near me :(

On the second one, the tree trunk looks a tad unnatural - where it branches off the roots. Did you use reference for the form or did you invent that one?

Long time not posting +coffee samurai

Hey guys and girls. I have had a very long first semester at University of Central Florida. I actually did a lot of computer art (Illustrator) and some of it is actually kind of decent (IMO) but that's to post as a dump later. I'd like to start posting again... here and elsewhere, as soon as I can g...

Oh gosh, nobody mentioned Cave Story ! Actually, I've still not beaten this yet. It's a pretty decent length game, and if it wasn't free, I'd buy it. I'll always love my classic grey game boy, and Zelda and Tetris of course. Lately I don't play much of anything. Going to school and working all the t...

Hey, these are pretty good! My favorites are the close-ups on faces, and I really like the ones that use heavy blacks. That said, the eye on the guy lighting the cigarette reads a little bit funny. Sorry about losing your job... I can admit to fantasizing about it myself, but the reality is that it'...

http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/6878/guessyouretheonlymgg0.jpg Something I've been working on in class at UCF between powerpoint slides. University is way harder than anything else so far... and a lot of that is just them making stuff difficult. I intended to do this completely with crosshatchin...

ooh! Advance Wars clone online? Cooool... now if only I hadn't just bought Dungeon Siege 2.
and if I had time to play games anyway.

I like your tank's shape, but I think it would go better with a more "painterly" style.

Man, this reminds me how much I've been missing Copper.

Very much like going from a community college to university... I wish everything was simple again, too.

Absolutely incredible.
