BTW, I've just remembered a commercial that was on British TV a while back, in which a boy wearing shorts beat a whole bunch of men in diving suits to an oyster containing a huge pearl. The final scene showed him holding up the pearl and grinning. Of course, what they didn't show you was ten minutes...

Wheeeeee! Another Copper strip!!! Aaaaargh! I'm another month older!!! Ahem. Anyway. "Dive" is funny on so many levels. Like the fact that Copper only needs some scuba gear and shorts, but Fred's presumably so paranoid about drowning that he needs a submersible , fcol. Or the fact that Fred keeps hi...

Sorry my name's not Phil. I think Zita is really cool (especially the way Zita, despite being the heroine, doesn't always get the upper hand) and I just wish there were more of them. Not least because if there were, it would make the strip eligible for a Wikipedia article....

The trailer is positively Shakespearian.

Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing (Macbeth, Act something or other).

Without wishing to commit any spoilers: I generally liked the movie, although a lot of the original dialogue like the Vogon poetry review got truncated quite badly in places. And it might just have been the theatre acoustics (in London's second-biggest cinema???) but some of the dialogue was a bit m...

At this precise moment I am listening to "Whaling Stories" from Home (c.1970) by Procol Harum. Next song on the program is "Child Bride" from In Sheltered Winds (1986) by Niadem's Ghost. Hands up everybody who's heard of them? Heh. They're a fairly obscure British neo-prog band featuring vocalist Pe...

I confess to not having read the original book, but the John Hurt movie is atmospheric and appropriately depressing, and that damned Oceania anthem just grabs you and won't let go. Like it's meant to, of course. Pity about the Eurythmics - I've nothing against them, but they just sound out of place ...

Some of the strips are like zen koans!

Thank you.

Supersonic delivery

Yeah, predictable pun... just wanted to congratulate the distributors for getting copies to Forbidden Planet, London simultaneous with the US launch. Bet their arms are tired...
