snafu:
1941, U.S. military slang, acronym for situation normal, all fucked up, "conveying the common soldier's laconic acceptance of the disorder of war and the ineptitude of his superiors." ["Oxford English Dictionary," which seldom fails to delight]

wow!

I agree that the movie was a bit of a dissapointment. Visually it was very beautiful... very pretty when Mei was doing the drum dance. i need to get myself sleeves like those. I think my problem with the movie is that the story got smaller and smaller. First it was about the government officials/pol...

I thought the movie it self was alright. It was unfortunate to see the movie in a theater full of kids (bad choice of time/theater and bad luck), munching, talking, blowing through their straws towards my ear... so i felt pretty distracted through out the movie. I can say that the ending credits ble...

hey, thanks for the feedback, everybody! i'm glad the loading time isn't horrible or annoying... i might make the size smaller, maybe do the image links in frames? (instead of pop-up windows - i don't want to put them in the flash menu page, because it would increse the file size too much.) yay! i h...

( ( SEMIHEMISPHERE ) ) website re-oomfed

http://www.semihemisphere.com/ the content's not that different but changed the flash page. (still in semi(hemi)-development - there are some unfinished links) is 3.2 MB too big for people to load? is the size okay? if there are any web-developer people out there, any suggestions? i kinda just figu...

yeah, the Ping Island theme inspired me to look into this "i-tunes" thing and purchase a piece of music for $0.99.

i plan to play the song over and over tomorrow on my 6 hour drive home.

I agree that for me, too, that's when th movie finally clicked in my head.

I thought the David Bowie songs were in Portuguese, at least that's what i thought it said in the credits. hey, also: did you notice that the "loan stooge" is Bud Cort, Harold from Harold and Maud ? It seems to always be in Wes Anderson movies, but race really stood out for me in this movie. I mean,...

I saw it yesterday... I totally agree with Kazu - I liked the cast and there were fine moments in it, but it just felt pretty empty for most of the film. I felt like for the first 2/3 of the movie, i didn't really know what was happening or where they were tying to go with it. Of course there are am...

amazing - the "feeling" of the image, the beautiful use of color, really nice textures, balance, the way it points diagonally, i love the variety in scale (robot vs. boys), and i really like the trees in the background of the robot.

what is the medium?

I like Miss McKay, as well. It's amazing that she's 19 (at least when she made the album. Some songs i like more and some less, but i think she has funny/interesting lyrics.

Boa's totally Britney Spears-y. I feel like I don't like a lot of Japanese music, but that's because it's hard to get exposed to the non-top40 stuff when you're in a different country. I hear some aweful stuff coming out of there sometimes - I really don't like Hamasaki Ayumi and the like, I don't l...

I don't like Brilliant Green, but I like Tommy February6, the earlier stuff, very good 80's type synthy pop. It seems more recently they've decided to add the "Tommy Angels" a group of cheerleader/dancers/back-up-vox to the project and it sounds hella dumb. If you're going to mention Boa, i think Ut...
