Am I nuts to think Wonderful People is a great song? I can't stop listening to it. I'm not really up on the dancy post punk genre, or dance and funk in general. Are Q and Not U doing something original, or do these guys sound like prince rehashes?

That's handy. Anyone who likes the new song I put on my most recent mix CD (come on! feel the illinoise) can buy it sooner. I bet they're doing that cause it leaked.

I just can't get over how much everyone seems to enjoy the CG. What I miss the MOST about Star Wars is models and puppets. I thought it was too obvious that nearly the whole movie was shot in front of a bluescreen. The real sets (like the white passage on the small ship from IV) ended up sticking o...

I really liked it, although I am prone to simply being dazzled by the power of cinema. I just love moving pictures and sound. Heheh. Anyway, the film feels as though it's the only one of the prequels with any significance, as if the other two were simply a long, drawn-out setup to this one. Surpris...

I was introduced to the Q and not U by a friend who used Wonderful People in a short film. (the song can be downloaded at their website ). I was hooked. My friend is loaning me Power and the album they made before that. Synths, danciness, catchiness, mmm. It's like a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. T...

It's true, Joey, there is a one-disc and two-disc edition, both put out by the Criterion Collection. The Mothersbaugh interview, which is terrific, is on disc two, as is the Maysles documentary. I haven't listened to the commentary yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Also on disc two is an "intervie...

I daresay, that along with Truffaut's 400 blows, it's some of my favorite black and white cinematography of all time. Have you seen La Dolce Vita? 8 1/2 is by far my favorite Fellini film.

I saw In Good Company Anyway, I highly recommend it. I'm with you on this one, Kazu. My buddy and I were doing a double-feature day at the local theater, and there wasn't much playing, so we caught this. I was so glad we went. It's so great to see a movie with genuine heart and looking honestly, an...

I'm going to see Kanye West at a festival in a few weeks, so I picked up College Dropout yesterday. I see what the hype was all about. It's nice to hear a rapper talk about something other than the usual.

Dinosaur Jr is more structured than BTS and Pavement. I'd agree that Pavement's lyrics tend to be more personal than BTS's, but I'd say they both have the same amount of quirk.

End of the Century:The Story of the Ramones.
The definitive documentary on the Ramones. It's painfully about with the four dudes from NYC. Absolutely riveting.
