Haven't really read Jack Staff or Kane (though I've heard about them), but I do know Paul's work from a short story he did with Grant Morrison called St. Swithin's Day. He's really great at capturing people and environments with just a few spare lines. Oni Press published St. Swithin's Day a few yea...

A European artist I recently discovered is Mawil. Top Shelf recently put out an english translation of one of his books, Beach Safari , which is where I first discovered his work. He has a simple, sketchy style that looks rather effortless and I find personally appealing. He has a website (in German...

Hey, that doesn't look like Patrick McGoohan!

(Sorry. Saw the title and that was the first thought that came to my head  Look forward to seeing more)

Since we're on the subject of movie promotions, has anyone seen the poster for Garden State? If not, check this link . Honestly, poster design seems to be a lost art these days, but I thought this one looked really nice. Kinda fulfills the obligatory "headshot" requirement but in an interesting way....

A little late to the table here, but yeah, this is a cool piece. You pay homage to Becky's style really well, but your art sensibilities really shine through. Nice mix. Also, I totally agree about the greatness of Demo (though I unfortunately missed the issue you're depicting here. thank god for com...

Me and my buddy Jonathan Hill will be in the Small Press Pavillion at booth N10. Kind of in the middle of the pavillion area if I remember right.

Martin Scorcese and Robert De Niro riffing off each other cracks me up. Everything else about it kinda leaves me cold though

You might want to try putting each section of the scroll into individual table cells insteads of putting them next to each other in one cell. If that doesn't work, then... :?:

(for the record, it looks ok in msie)

Damn, this is just lovely to look at. So much detail and things going on. There's some really great energy in this. Yeah, it would probably be easier to follow in person as the browser window only lets you see so much at a time. Still, it's fun to go back and catch little things that I've missed on ...

Been on a constant loop of the following lately.

The Pixies
Frank Black (solo stuff/& the catholics)
Elliot Smith
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
The Coral

Gah! I need to listen to some new music but I'm too broke to buy new stuff and I don't have time to download anything either.

Really like the soft feel of that first sketch (nice detail in the spacesuit, too). I'm really liking these. It looks like you're having a lot of fun with these drawings.

(The cave man above is priceless, by the way)

Drew this a while ago for my website redesign (and as you may have noticed, my avatar image is a detail of this pic) and it's one of few things I've drawn lately where the final product came out as good as the image I initially had in my head: http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v342/jasonrainey/dis...
