Congrats on getting picked up. Those pages looked pretty nice. I dug the separation of environments in your spread (desert, city, city in the clouds)

There was a page from Paul Pope's Heavy Liquid (issue 4 i think?) that I actually blew up and hung on my wall for a time (it's now in storage though). It was a splash page of the main character S walking through the rain. Great composition and mood. As soon as I saw it, I wished it was available as ...

I remember when I first found out about In-n-Out, I couldn't believe it. I remember donny and Walter talking about going to the In-n-Out in The Big Lebowski, but I thought that was a restaraunt name the Coen Bros. made up, and it seemed cool that such a place exists. Anyway, I finally got to go to o...

These look lovely. You've got a great variety of gestures and and they're all depicted so perfectly. I also like the way you lay out sketchy blocks of color in the second drawing. Keep it up, I'm sure you'll be doing some REALLY spectacular stuff eventually. (not that this isn't pretty great...) And...

Nice variety of characters (the last is my personal favorite. can't beat that expression). And kudos on the ship drawing. Them pirate ships are tough to draw.

Fun little story there. Some of those self-modification panels were pretty disgusting (but in a good way). I liked the variety of the characters in your crowds. I also dig your choice of fon for the lettering. It really went well with the art. Al in all, a nice (disturbing)(but ina good way) package.

I can definitely understand the sentiment (I'll be bike shopping pretty soon myself :x )

Any plans to continue with the strip? It seems like an interesting premise set up with the giant robot.

I love the reveal on the slave. "Even the slaves are happy!"

For some reason the happy dictator reminds me of Sideshow Bob. It could just be my brain making odd connections though. Glad to see you keeping it up though. :)

Really nice painting technique, sideache. You're definitely creating a rich, interesting environment. Good pacing and layouts as well. I agree with Kazu that the pages are looking a little dark on my monitor, which makes some things harder to see. I like how you use purple on the second page to draw...

Haven't read it yet, but my roommate picked up a copy, and just from flipping through, I agree that it looks fantastic. Can't wait to read it.

Having slightly less money, I picked up one of Sam's mini-comics, Phenoms, which was short but pretty hilarious. The guy's got quite an imagination.

Very Nice, You plan on coloring it? if so i would really like to see how it comes out. Nah, I just did an ink drawing this time. No time to color it, unless I wanted to make a belated anniversary card  Thanks for your comments everyone. (and don't worry hupselipup, I'm sure my buddies can ...

I'm trying to prepare myself for an art show I'm doing with a few of my friends. The exhibit has a WW2 theme. It's an excuse for us to get together and to draw tanks and planes. Way to use those art shows! Thes paintings are looking really nice so far. I really like the washes on the plan...

Anniversary card

Some friends of mine are having their first anniversary pretty soon, so I drew a card for them. At first I wasn't sure what to do, but after a little doodling I came up with the following: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v342/jasonrainey/anniversary.gif Maybe a little weirder than what I originall...

Maybe I'm crazy, but with that hawaiian shirt, he kinda looks like Hunter S. Thompson.

Interesting concept art though :)

Nice stuff. I like your mix of observational sketching and the occassional dash of humor (the mini-vending machine hopping away and saying "I've stolen your dollar!" is great!)
