I love the shape of the dog in #4. The way it cuts through both figures and still reads despite being a flat shape... that's just brilliant.

Did you change the tech one? I thought I remembered seeing a more underbite thinking type of mouth, which I thought was stronger. The red plug at the bottom would look a bit clearer if it were turned so that we could see a little bit of space between the prongs for a clearer silhouette, but thats n...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm 31 years old and I just finally grasped what that means myself. :) Color has three attributes. People call these attributes by different names, but they basically break down to this: hue, value, and saturation. Hue is the color -- red, blue, green, etc. Val...

Well, I'm a sucker for robots and your palette is nice. If you wanted to kick it up another notch, I would suggest using something other than straight black to make your shadows. You're basically making a value change to the color without consider hue or saturation and I think you could really get t...

Conceptually, I'm not sure which pose I like better. But, oh! Those feet! That arm! That face! #2 wins for me. And the textures really round out the illustration nicely.

And I dig the racecar from the previous piece. You would make awesome looking comics.

Ugh. A square. Square compositions are so tough to pull off. I like the way you broke it into a "V" -- a nice solution. Kind of weird to see Kate in a dress -- I don't think I've ever seen that on the show. Is it awkward to have her staring at the viewer? I dunno... great stuff though!

That's a fun piece. Love the stylization -- especially the eyes, they really pop!

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys, especially yours, Frank. It was really nice of you to give such detailed feedback. I really felt like I hit on something here, both in terms of the overall style of the piece and this specific composition and I think I agree that somehow (and I don't know how eith...

Dance, Lovebot! Dance!

My latest. Pencils with digital color, 10.25"x13". I decided to try to push color and shape more in this piece instead of line. I'm really happy with the results.

Since it looks like this stuff is all out of your head, I'd say it shows that you have a pretty strong understanding of human anatomy. I think it would be interesting to see the stylistic playfulness of the first illustration incorporated into your studies. The rendered piece is great, although I th...

I just watched Frank And Ollie last night, a 1999 documentary about two of the famous "Nine Old Men" of Disney Animation. I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of Disney films, but this doc made me want to see some of those films again. It's so inspiring to watch these guys talk about their work and thei...

I stopped by Toys R Us today expecting the Wii section to be barren from the buy 2 get 1 free deal they were running. I left with Super Mario Galaxy, Battalion Wars II and Fire Emblem. I'd hoped for Metal Of Honor: Heroes 2, but I'm pretty happy. Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 also just arrived from Amazon...
