These are great. I like the way you are exaggerating the figures. I find the wide ankles and forearms to be a lot of fun.

Okay, I promise that I won't keep publishing all the comics here, but I figured that I might as well finish the current storyline. The last part will publish Monday on Haiku Comics . http://haikucomics.com/comics/2009-02-16.png http://haikucomics.com/comics/2009-02-18.png http://haikucomics.com/comi...

If you want more precision, you might try acrylic or cell vinyl. Or you could get a tablet and try to color on the computer. But if you like watercolors, then watercolor. I mean, why can't your work be reminiscent of Eric Chase Anderson, who does all the art for Wes Anderson's films? http://www.rush...

When you say rough, what would you advise me to do? just practice? I think I posted this quote from the book Art & Fear elsewhere on this forum this week, but I think it is one of the most true statements I've ever read on the practice of art: The ceramics teacher announced on opening day that he w...

I am a huge Elliott Smith fan. :) I think drawing is something you could do for more than fun with a bit more practice. You're not that bad as it is and I would love to see what might happen if you thought of it as more than just a hobby. There is some fun symbolism in this -- I like the stuff with ...

By the way, Kazu, my wife is a middle school librarian here in Long Beach and she says her kids love Amulet. If you ever want to talk to some kids about your work, I can hook you up with a school full of kids that would love to have you talk with them. That sounds great. When Amulet 2 comes out, I ...

I like the panel of the fish chewing on the worm. I second that. That is an awesome fish. By the way, Kazu, my wife is a middle school librarian here in Long Beach and she says her kids love Amulet. I read a blog this week that threw out a quote from a book called Art & Fear. I got a lot out of it and I think you might too: The ceramics teacher announced on opening day that he was dividing the class into two groups. All those on the left side of the studio, he said, would be graded solely on th...

I like this a lot (for obvious reasons, if you've seen my comics) but I'm surprised that you made it. After the D&D comic, this seems totally uncharacteristic. A bit of a chameleon, eh?

You have a nice drawing style and your storytelling abilities are pretty strong -- it's really easy to follow the flow of the comic. However, I just can't get past the premise. The owl is just not sinister in any way and I can't make myself believe that all these people are frightened by it. I also ...

I don't know why anyone would want to read the comics section from any newspaper. Most of the comics I see in my paper (the LA Times) are terrible, watered down, craftless drivel that has clearly been created to fit some market demographic. The Times has recently been running potential replacements ...

Bon Iver

Okay, I didn't think I'd like Bon Iver from the bits I'd heard, but I find myself quite taken by For Emma, Forever Ago, falsetto singing and all. Anyone else?
