Re: Piper's Pet (UPDATE: Now with actual comic!)

This is really nice work, Nick. Here are some quick notes... the darker areas are getting a bit lost, so I would recommend lightening your darker values. You may also want to see how it reads in CMYK, to make sure it works well for print. Quick question: are you using a Cintiq hooked up to a Macbook...

Heheh. The books will be retail, which is 10.95 for the paperbacks and 21.99 for the hardcovers. They'll also have prints made just for the event.

Re: Inglourious Basterds

I'll say it definitely isn't for everyone, but if you know what to expect from a Tarantino film, you'll be happy to see he's back to doing what he does best. Also, despite what the trailers indicate, there is very little action in this film. It is almost entirely built of sharp dialogue, like a cour...

Inglourious Basterds

I'm surprised to see that a thread for this film hasn't been started yet, so here we go. Loved the film. Probably my favorite of the year so far, which is surprising since about a month ago I wasn't excited about this film at all. Going to see it again soon, so I'll post some notes after a second vi...

Re: District 9

I really liked it. Sharlto Copley gives an incredible performance, and the effects work is top notch. It's rare to get to see mech fights, so I really enjoyed the finale. :D

Re: Ponyo on a Cliff (2008)

This was one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I loved the film, and it's just one of those works that is really difficult to critique, since it is made with such a wonderfully carefree and loving hand. What surprised me was how emotionally affected I was by the relationships in the film...

yamunatri and rithrina are spammers. Their accounts have been banned.

As for the question, be sure to get the full version of Photoshop. It is the industry standard.

We saw this last night and had a blast. It's back to the basics for Raimi, and man, he is good at creating unseen forces! Alison Lohman is basically under constant attack from sound and editing. Heheh.

The film made me cry more than I have in a long, long time. The "married life" sequence at the beginning is brilliant and touching. Because the opening is such a tour-de-force, I felt much of the latter parts of the film suffered from having to measure up. When they get to South America, the film re...
