Adventures with my first long form comic:

OK the story looks like it will be over 150 page which puts me at half way or so now. By far the longest I've ever gone on one story, and pretty ambitious considering I haven't had anything in print for years, really. This is the book the agent optioned and is now setting up to pitch, nice to have t...

Mark Bode's site (Vaughn's son) would be the place to find out. I bet you could email and ask, too. I don't remember if I actually met Mark or not, but years and years ago we did illustration work for the same people -- I was under the impression that he's a nice guy, and receptive to his father's f...

What a neat Christmas card! I like the striped socks best. I just realized you are from Norway! And today is St Lucia day! St Lucia always made me jealous when I was little because my older sister always got to wear the fancy crown and wake our parents... I had to follow behind. Any way, happy holid...

Everyone is different, but for me digital color takes longer then coloring with inks, but I prefer working on the computer because of the options it gives me (not to mention scanning color work is a pain). From what I understand, upgrading from tablet to Cintiq might speed me up a little, and so tha...

I'm not quite pro, but I was just talking about this with someone so... Since I have to have my project finished by a set date, the schedule I'm on is something like this: 4-6 pages a week penciled and inked (a page a day depending on my freelance gigs). Day seven of the week is for me to clean and ...

I like to do my line art by hand but then everything else is digital -- this what I'm doing now (but it does require heavy software): In Illustrator CS2 and CS3 there is a nifty feature that does a fairly detailed auto trace. This gives you a nice vector version of your line art, which in turn reduc...

Er, has anyone seen the 12" Cintiq yet? I posted a link to the 12" one up above, but I just came across this today... 2 new models, including a widescreen Cintiq. http://www.electronista.com/articles/07/12/03/cintiq.12wx.and.20wsx/ Thanks!! I talked to a rep yesterday about the new models. I can't ...

I grew up with the books and think they are great. Start with the earlier stories (before Goscinny died) as the art and plots are the strongest in those. My favorite as a child was Asterix and Cleopatra.

Er, has anyone seen the 12" Cintiq yet? It's not available in the US, but seems to be all over Australia and Japan. It's touted as being "portable." Do you think I could use it with my lap top? I need a new tablet, but a Cintiq would be better, especially if I end up having to color more then just a...

This is sort of a loaded topic because everyone has different tastes Yes, but generally you know that there is a movie you are ashamed to love , because public opinion is so strongly arrayed against that movie. AVP is a good example. That movie was trash. FUN FACT : my girlfriend worked on the cost...

This is sort of a loaded topic because everyone has different tastes... on top of that, I live with a magazine editor who specializes in cult cinema, so we see a lot of films. I'm known for my questionable taste in movies, lets get that out of the way right now. If I like it, no doubt it will be a f...

Oops, I guess I've been MIA for a bit... Dart 23 -- The agent and I met through a mutual friend. I'm not a great networker, so even if I went to more conventions, I doubt I'd meet anyone at one. Ha ha. YA stuff is a big deal right now, and there are a lot of people looking for it. The first thing my...
