A year with an agent for my book:
So, I did land an agent, and I can't say it's been a picnic. I had a thread about this a while ago, and this seems like a fair venue to share my experience... I'm not sure if my agency just doesn't know how to sell a graphic novel, or if my agent is unexperienced, or if my book just sucks. But even ...

There might be better places in your local, but I use www.paperslam.com and honestly, the new postcards cards they did for me are incredible quality. I also like them because I can swing by and pick up my stuff, but I'm pretty sure they'll ship where ever. After trying a bunch of places both in town...

I like this... I like this a lot! Of course I'm partial to urban decay anyway, but I do think this is nicely done. I also rather like the vivid colors. It puts me in mind of the way colors change due to environmental change -- like the weird wag grass looks as a thunderstorm rolls... Not sure if tha...

You know, this is something close to my heart... I started in animation, working the lowest end art related jobs when I was 19. I did it for a few years, despite being freelance with long periods of lay off. I was in love with animation as a medium, and hell, still am. But one thing I learned is tha...

Channelling my Art Teacher Gandpa here... I think you have the rendering thing down. Your pieces are really shaded and detailed. And you seem to have a grasp on anatomy, but, and really any artist of any skill level can only improve by doing this, I'm not singling you out.... you might think about d...

You build a website, and post up a page or a few panels or wherever every week, and show maybe a quarter or half of the book. The great thing about doing this weekly thing is the artists can still be working on the unfinished book while you post parts of the comic. Again, assuming the comic dosn't ...

I was going to leave this thread alone because I do not self publish my comics. The reason I don't self publish is because I am the co-publisher of an indy film magazine and that is enough work, I don't need to add another publication to my headache. I agree with Matt Bernier that pre-order printing...

It looks good. And the style reminds me of some animation film I have seen once, but don`t remember the tittle now. This sounds like a big project, hopes it goes well. :D Thanks! I have something of animation background, I guess one never escapes that, right? You'll let me know if you think of the ...

I'm doing these color panels for the book to break up the black and white every ten or twenty pages, ok... I've only finished one, waiting until I get around to buying that new Cintiq in the hopes it will speed up my digital painting. So far this is the only panel finished that has made it into the ...
