Batman's New Suit (NSFW)

This is a reinterpretation of the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale "The Emperor's New Clothes," completed as a final project for a cartooning class at CSU Fullerton. Final is completed in ink and watercolor. I'm really happy with how this turned out for the most part. Really, all I'm disappointe...

Tiger Woods + MATH COMICS (ft. Einstein, Newton, Hawking!)

Two projects I recently completed for school. I suppose the timing of posting this Tiger Woods would have been more appropriate if he had actually won the Masters this past weekend instead of coming in 2nd (I actually finished this piece about 3 weeks ago). http://www.betweenmars.com/images/art/2008...

Congrats, Amy & Kazu! I know you're both busy with big projects, but try not to work too much during the honeymoon. That's the time for relaxation.

New drawing from this past Monday. His head is a bit short and a bit wide at the same time. I tend to do that, so I'll hopefully remember to watch myself on that next week.

I can't speak on Jeff specifically, because he's not teaching the class I'm taking now (which is my first class there so far), but the info packet they sent me included a list of supplies that recommended a Conte1710 B or 2B charcoal pencil.

Drawing Class at Watts Atelier

Hey everybody, I haven't really posted here in quite a very long time, but recently I began a head drawing class at Watts Atelier of the Arts in Encinitas, CA and I thought I'd share my results after a mere three weeks of class. Every Monday night I take an hour-plus long drive to Encinitas for the ...

Winter Fun!

These are some Christmas drawings I did for family and friends this year. Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up with drawing over the last few months. Fortunately, I've done so much drawing in the last week and it feels so damn good. I wanted to try inking with a brush, so this is the first time ...

Goddamnit, Kazu. That is so damn awesome. Must you taunt me with the awesomeness? Well, I guess that, at least, it inspires me to draw and want to be better. But damn, that is so freakin' sweet.

Why not just not have an apprentice? :P

I read it a few days ago after buying it at Comic-Con. I am completely FLOORED. Incredible book. When I bought it Doug stated, with complete resolve, that it was his best work yet. I don't know if I agree with him yet, but this is definitely up there. I'll have to read it one more time, at a much sl...

Jeez, that is superb. Very nice work and a very real situation. It kind of made me sad to see it end like that, but he was really trying to hard with her. Very captivating characters, a great style, and excellent pacing. I was also completely floored by the closeup front view of his shoes as he was ...
