That does sound good. :) I would love to visit the hot springs if I go.

Question though, were there any worries about infection from bacteria in the water?

This is why I ask...

Vanilla Sky definitely deserves praise for it's soundtrack and it's script. It's how I found Sigur Ros. :) I've actually heard a lot of good things about Pride and Prejudice. Stephen Hunter, probably one of the most biting and picky film critics I've ever read, raved about the movie. And having Keir...

Doki Doki

There was a 30 minute student film that I caught on PBS on Independent Lens called "Doki Doki." It was shot on DV in black and white and took place entirely in Japan, made by an American director named Chris Eska. Frankly, I found some moments to be pretty corny, but I love the the atmosphere and di...

All this Kurosawa talk is reminding me that I still have a Criterion Collection DVD of Throne of Blood sitting on my shelf, in shrink wrap. I can't wait to open it. Throne of Blood was one of my first Kurosawa films. One night back in High School, when I was leaving the house to go hang out with so...

It's good to see so many Kurosawa fans here. Can't create a story or a piece of art without thinking about one of his movies, can you? Well....as far as I'm concerned anyways.... Red Beard is collecting dust on my shelf. Think I'll be watching it tonight. :D Whereas two other movies are concerned......

Nice! Did you use Illustrator or Photoshop?

I'm a stranger to both, so I can't tell. :(

Joe Hisaishi is great.

My personal favorites is his work on Kitano's films "Hana-bi" and "A Scene at the Sea." I was able to find "Hisaishi meets Kitano" and its now disc three in my car stereo.

It's too bad Kitano and Hisaishi don't work together anymore though. :(

I can't say I enjoyed Camus very much. I was looking forward to the Stranger very much, but after finishing it I found myself disliking it very much. I'm hoping the Plague will be much better. As for Murakami, I believe I've found a new favorite author. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, which runs at abou...

I'm planning to backpack to Korea & Japan next summer

Five days in Japan and five days in Korea. I know this seems like a long shot, money wise. But I'm currently saving up, trying to raise up to about $5000 - taking flight costs, lodging in hostels, and food into consideration. I honestly don't know if I'll reach that much, but I guess we'll see. Whoe...
