the ending suffered quite a bit without elaborating more on Sheriff Bell's relationship with his father and wife -- but it was understandable considering the fine line they walked on the near-anti-climatic ending. I completely agree with you. And I can understand how people would be fuming at the e...

When I think about it now, James Bond looked like Stretch Armstrong when he walks in the gunbarrel intro.

It was still a fun game though. :D

"Me, Myself, and Irene" - I'm not a fan of the Farrelly Bros, but I was surprised to find that this movie made me laugh to the point there were tears in my eyes. This probably isnt considered a bad movie overall, but I surprised by "Constantine" a great deal. I used to be a Hellblazer fan and was ho...

Anyone understand Shohei Imamura's films?

The AFI theatre in my area is showing a retrospective on his films in the next week or so. There are one or two of them which looking interesting to me, but I don't know. I know his films usually deal with the underbelly of Japanese society - a theme that, I must admit, I'm somewhat uncomfortable wi...

Apparently there's a trilogy. The first being Twilight Samurai, the second is The Hidden Blade, which I saw and while I didn't like as much as Twilight, it was a spectacular movie nonetheless. A bit darker and more heartbreaking than the first installment. The third movie is Love and Honor, with Tak...

Saw this today. Loved it. Highly recommend it.

As sad as it is, it's my second Wes Anderson film. I saw Rushmore a long ass time ago. Remember not liking it. I should give it another chance.

I really should check out Royal Tenembaums too.

Going to be volunteering there. Went to the pre SPX party tonight and got to shake hands with Jeff Smith very briefly.

Should be a good show. Looking forward to it. :)

Ah cool. I'll be looking through these soon enough. Thanks guys.

I recently bought "Ugetsu" on DVD. Kenji Mizoguchi's another great Japanese director whihc I hadn't known about until a year ago.

Yeah, I kind of got that feeling that things weren't finished. But it didn't bother me that much because I was for the most part satisfied with how things were resolved towards the end anyway. Plus the relationship between Mortensen and Naomi Watts was very well done, not to mention tasteful conside...

Eastern Promises...

Excellent, excellent film. I wasn't sure if I was going to see it because I was one of the few who didn't like A History of Violence. But the acting, script, and direction was close to perfection....as far as I was concerned anyway. Very disturbing in parts, but also very powerful and touching in ot...

It was very very good. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are two of my favorite actors and it was excellent to see them on the screen together. 3:10 to Yuma pretty much joins my list of good western flicks with Once Upon a Time in the West and Unforgiven. James Mangold is quite the director. I was su...
