Agreed. She did a good job.

You're right about those audio transitions. That tracking shot of the soldiers by the ocean was quite astounding as well.

No. But every director has a stinker in their body of work.

But I really don't think this will be one.

Atonement..

Saw this tonight with a friend. Had no idea what I was walking into. This movie was a punch in the gut. Wow. Brilliant performances by McAvoy and Knightley (oh, how I love her :P), as well as by lesser known actresses Saoirse Ronan and Romola Garai, who play the same character at different ages. And...

Don't. If you do, there will be the slight chance that you'll be disappointed.

Just go in there, take a deep breath, and don't expect too much. And you may enjoy it more.

But that's just what I think. :)

Agreed. Man, Francis Lawrence is going to get a ton of work after this movie. He made that movie look good and really played up the suspense and emotion. You know there was something special in his direction after Constantine despite Keanu and that crap-ass screenplay. However one thing bugs me....a...

It may be just me, but somehow it's kind of reminiscent of The Velveteen Rabbit and the Snowman by Raymond Briggs.

That's a sweet thing to do for your daughter. Great work. :)

Man, I missed it. But I will rent the movie one of these days. I tend to refuse to see most movies based on books because I want to read them first. I missed Gone, Baby Gone because it took me so long to get to the novel. Same case for the Namesake. And I still haven't read the book. :-/ But the mov...

I retract my last entry (that being "Me, Myself and Irene" for a 'bad' film. The one awful film that I can't help but enjoy, is Jean Claude Van Damme's "Bloodsport." Cool fights scenes, yes. But awful dialogue, acting and direction. Lame and contrived emotional moments. Corny 80's soundtrack (which ...

It is indeed the final season, but apparently the creators are open to spin offs and such. I'm kind of happy about this actually. Most tv shows run out of steam after their third season. I'm sure everyone can learn from the mistakes of the "The X-Files." So far, Avatar has been running strong. :)

Will Avatar the Last Airbender be affected.....

..by the writers' strike?

I know it's in the middle of the final season. But I haven't heard whether all the episodes have been written or not, or if there'll be any delay in production.

I sure hope not. :-/

You make a good point. when I finally read Blood Meridian, Danny Huston sprang to mind immediately.

The Proposition was a fantastic film.
