Re: Overcoming the Digital Artist Toddler stage

For me it's been human anatomy. I heard once that if you can draw a person well, you can draw anything else. And it kind of makes sense! We're so used to looking at human bodies that we know exactly when we've rendered it wrong or right. And if you can draw a person well, then you really know that y...

Joost, you're right! They would look good in color. I wonder how long that would take. This weekend I made a visitors page with all the characters colored, and that didn't take too long. I dunno. Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the latest!

It's a kid playing a video game! I think. Maybe I'll have to wait and see.

Re: The Process

The grayscale works fantastic! Such a great way to talk about the subsconscious... In my mind I was hearing these wonderful underwater muffled sounds accompanying the first segment.

Wonderful work!

Love the blur in the background. That's great. Has this room been sealed for thousands of years? How are those candles burning?

Hey Mike, looks fun! You should send me a promo image if you have one and I'll write a post about your new comic at my blog. Perhaps you'd want to wait until you have more pages before you begin promotion, but, let me know!

These are great Nate! You work digitally, right? How do you get the watercolor texture in there?

Re: Overcoming the Digital Artist Toddler stage

That's great! Your on the right path then. What I would do is study a bit of color theory. What's tough about digital painting is that you can just pick any color you want, and the infinity of choices is paralyzing and can cripple a work. Whereas if you're using traditional media, you can get your c...

Re: The Mal and Chad comic strip is back!

Jason: Even though I've finished inking it, my publisher's tell me it won't be out for a while. We've still got corrections and cover design and print tests to do. I can't wait! Mr. Average: Thanks! I'm happy to hear that. Gunwhale: Thanks man! I've got a method where I pencil and letter in photosho...
