After much thought I think the main problem was that Indy is a product of the 1940s and the movie (necessarily) was set in the 1950s. The movie started out feeling like it was the 1950s, but the entire second half took place in some faraway fairy-land that just didn't suit the time period. What made...

Ultimately I have my sights on moving to canada, so i'm sure my overtime free days are pretty numbered. It depends where you work. My brother works at a games company that seems to be pretty good about not working their employees to death. Though I gather this is a rarity. Work is my play and play ...

My method is constantly evolving, but here's my current method: First I go through several rounds of successively more detailed outlines of the plot. A short story might only need one round, a graphic novel definitely more than one. Hopefully by the end of the process I know what's happening, in wha...

Michael's? Is that the same Michael's we have in Canada? (big box store, lots of craft supplies and scrapbooking and gardening stuff, not much in the way of actual art supplies, everything ridiculously overpriced). Because I try to avoid them whenever I can. :?

Though $7 doesn't seem overpriced.

Ender's Game is awesome. The second book in the series is pretty good too. (I didn't like the third and haven't read the rest). It would be difficult to turn it into a movie, though I think not impossible. Personally I think it would make an awesome comic.

Yeah.

Winnipeg? Also known as Winterpeg? Land of a trillion mosquitoes? I like it. To me, the alien abduction in progress seems appropriate. :-) Canada has lots of fun place names. On the one hand you've got places with incongruous names like Moose Jaw, Medicine Hat, Gimli, and Uranium City, and on the ot...

Well, you know, Cloudscape does have a few Francophones hanging around if that would help.

Oh gee this list has a tendency to fluctuate a lot over time but let's see... In no particular order, and taking into account the comickers who are currently exercising the most influence over how I make comics and not necessarily the comics I enjoy reading the most or the ones who have had the most...

How about trying smaller publishers? Folks like Top Shelf can have their pick of the comics out there, so the competition to get picked up by them is probably pretty tough. I don't know the full roster of smaller publishers, or whether they would be interested in your stuff particularly, but places ...

Just saw the movie today. It's awesome. And to think, I used to not even like the Wachowski Bros. Perhaps I have misjudged them?

How are you getting them printed? If you're just photocopying them yourself, it wouldn't be too difficult to do, say, two pages on a colour copier to get the relevant panels in colour, and the rest of the book in black and white. Hand colouring could work too of course. I did that for a cover once. ...

I think what you need to keep in mind about all this is, well, Scott Kurtz has already said what I'm trying to say, so go read his thoughts on the matter: http://www.pvponline.com/2008/05/30/tokyopop-is-not-the-enemy/ He makes a really good point, actually. Rather than blacklisting Tokyopop or gett...

They must be a different ethnic group, but I don't know how I'd find out. Not necessarily. If it's true it's a gene, it's in the local gene pool, there's no more reason for this one trait to be tied to one ethnic group than for blue eyes to be tied to one ethnic group. There are blue eyed Greeks an...
