Sweeny isn't Sondheim's best work (see: Assassins), but is his most dementedly fun. I'd love to see a film version of Assassins too, but... That'll be the day! I was feeling a bit cautious about Sweeney Todd , but you guys convinced me--I wanna see it now! I like how, from what I've heard, the sing...

Sounds like FFIII might hit the spot--but what about this Final Fantasy XII? Does it compare favorably? I see that it's newer and more expensive... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61pWLFl8aGL._AA280_.jpg And isn't FFIV the same as the SNES FFII? That was a terrific game, but I want something I...

Probably going to start on Final Fantasy IV for the DS. I bought it last year when it was released and it was still sealed until a couple of weeks ago. Ooh I want that! Actually, this is a good place to ask: What is the best role playing game for the DS? I really loved Final Fantasy and Chrono Trig...

I saw your Aimee Mann in this week's New Yorker; it looks very nice in print.

I had to form a search party as well; then they refused to open the shipment, so I went to another Borders! Maybe there's some confusion because it's early. That was the impression I got. In Borders, it's stocked in the "independent readers-pop culture" section of the childrens' books (while Flight ...

Hmm it's hard to say without knowing much about your story or character, but I would advise that you remember you're making a book, not a hollywood or pixar movie. I've found that comics which are eagerly cinematic often come out feeling very thin.

Also: Hurray! I can't wait to see it.

It reads a bit awkward to me that the characters are "behind" the sky/water--I keep staring at that transition part of the image (instead of the people or the buildings). I would suggest overlapping the background with the figures. I understood that those were some sort of tentacles, but it is ambig...

Pootie Tang! It was one of the best movies of 2001. I think the only major critic who agreed with me was Janet Maslin, shortly before she retired. I really tried to enjoy League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but no luck. I didn't find it as aggressively bad as many others, but I just thought it was ve...

Yikes... He's putting up these comics for FREE, there's no reason to be so insistent. Also, the visual lines created by her silhouette are very important, because it has to draw the eye appropriately backwards, against the commonly accepted direction of panel flow. I hate to say anymore for fear of ...

?!?!? Another samurai film from the director of Twilight Samurai? How did I miss this? Gonna rent it tonight, for sure. Oh wow, I second that! I only saw Twilight Samurai for the first time a couple weeks ago, and when I watched the interview supplements where Yamada mentions that he's working on a...
