This was so much fun! And now I've got a pair of 3D glasses so I can walk around and poke people and say "It's like I can TOUCH you!" and be sad that nobody but my other cool geeky friends gets the reference.

This was excellent! I got to see it in one of those little art-house theaters with couches, which, unfortunately, do not exist anywhere near my own town.

I enjoyed it much; it actually made the book make more sense to me in retrospect.

My first try at a graphic novel...

Wow, I haven't logged on for months and I've got a hell of a lot of catching up to do! In the mean time, I've completed my first "graphic novel" of sorts. My friend Amy Susan approached me a few months back asking if I would illustrate a short story she had written. It was based on things that have ...

Oh man...I, too, recently discovered Waits and I can't get enough. It strikes me as odd because he's really not like any of the other strange, edgy underground stuff I listen to, but...he's amazing! I first saw him in Coffee and Cigarettes and decided to check out Mule Variations at work (I work at ...

Oh man...if I could count up how much money I've spent collecting Beck imports and singles over the past year...I'm scared to, though.
Yeah, The Information is awesome. I love the novel approach to album artwork and user interactivity. I look forward to what he thinks up next!

I haven't laughed as hard as I did at the sneak-attack baptism scene for a long, long time.

A new doodle

Wow, I hadn't posted here in nearly a year, I think, until last night. I've got a lot of stuff to look at! A friend of mine tells cheesy jokes a lot to make me smile. The last one went like this: amysue: hmm...why do elephants wear red shoes? brnichol: no clue amysue: so they can hide in che...

Von is just an entirely different animal than the rest of their catalog, and I think it is incredible for what it is and for the mood that it invokes.

See them live if you can. I caught them in Denver in February and it was an unbelievable experience. It's in my top three shows, beaten only by Massive Attack in May.

I've got one horrible rip of the short title song he did the for the indie Internet film series The Lucky Ones, which was actually an elaborate car advertisement, but charming (in a flawed way) nonetheless. It's a fun little song.

Dub Trio

Just saw these fellas open for Meat Beat Manifesto last night. They blew my mind! Live Jamaican dub with some nifty punk rock influences, very energetic and groovy.

I like that! It reminds me of some children's books I read as a kid, but I'm sure I don't have them around anymore...

Hey sparkle, I wasn't familiar with the name, so I Googled him - I like it! And no wonder the style looked familiar; I remember always watching the title sequence to PBS's Mystery when I was a kid because I loved the spooky animation. Thanks for the compliments, folks, and the tips. You have certain...
