Bioshock

I have just bought Bioshock after reading on review sites what a beautifully designed, well plotted game it was . Now, after playing about three hours of it, I'm considering trading it in. Is it worth persevering with, or will it just deliver more of the same? I was initially pleased that the game c...

the infernal machine?

I preferred one of the other proposed titles "Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine" (The Temple of Doom had crystal stones in a giant skull, so this title seems a bit familar) Having said that, I'm going to see this film regardless of title. and if it's bad I will force myself to enjoy it it by sh...

rejection

Aaargh, I went though a phase of cold-calling people in my last year at university. When I finally called someone who agreed to give me an interview, I was very excited because it was at a well-known children's book publishers. I took a day off and got the train down to London with my portfolio. But...

laser printers

Printing stuff yourself is good, because you can be completely nitpickey and controlling about the quality of your work. It also allows you to mess around with the format if you're doing a small print run (cut out pages, different quality of paper ect) Having said that, the laser printer has to work...

wow!

Wow! What an amzingly cool website. I've got the same problem as everyone else though:I went onto the postcard link and got stuck. Personally I like text links, not icons...so many of my friends use them cos they're fun to design but they make the page hell to get round for first time visitors. The ...

micromanagement

The more people involved in the project, the less control any one person has over the readers. In a traditional comic book. the writer, the artist, the inker, the colorist and the letterer all bring something to the finished product. So I don't think it's possible for the creator to micromanage a pr...

nice art dude!

Really nice stuff.A shark in a hat, I realize, is what my day was lacking.

I also like the cat poster a lot.

And the rougher stuff is really nice- not as keen on the photoshopped stuff (I like to see how it's done) but the photoshop art is still really good.

More sharks with hats?

Thanks to everyone who wrote in offering to collaberate- but the deadline was looming so I wrote something myself.

Actually, that's a lie, I got an old story and fiddled around with it.

Cheers.

Reference

Hey. I was wondering what the people on here use for reference material. Obviously it's better to draw things directly from life, but sometimes that's not practical. Some good sites that I have found are here: http://www.bbcmotiongallery.com/Customer/index.aspx (I have to buy clips from this for wor...

Dolls

http://bluecatclub.comicgenesis.com/images/dolls.jpg I did this one page comic for the UK Comics Thing brochure- just wondered if anyone had any constructive criticism. I'm having some problems with the image linking: if it doesn't work properly, the image is here: http://bluecatclub.comicgenesis.c...
