I enjoyed your art at the show also. The Hippo piece was especially nice.

The Great Race - WIP

This is an illustration for a competition. It's getting close to being done.

Marilyn

I finished the Marilyn DVD cover illustrations recently and am now on to Jayne Mansfield. The different studios have been keeping me busy; Westerns, Musicals, Film Noir, Pin-ups. Here is the slip cover image. http://www.sideache.net/images/MarilynDVD.jpg http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EMGJAY/q...

Love that first one! The arms, particularly our left, get a bit lost - maybe lighten them just a tad so that they read better. The face is outstanding. This is a fun old lady that I want to talk to. She's just great.

Lovely, I like all of it. I think what is being considered a rushed background works for me. It gives a slight stylistic variation to the focal point, from the environment. Very attractive piece.

Nice! Really Really Nice. I like how this image allows me to write a bit of a story for myself while viewing it. I ask myself; who is she?, what is she thinking?, why this tree? desaturating your images lends a lot to this illustration. My only crit would be: The tree flattens because their is no ov...

Oh, I love the Myths of the Norsemen. The top image is beautiful. I don't think you need the light blue radial gradient in the background because your positive and negative shapes are so wonderful. I think they would be re-enforced even more without it. Thanks for posting, that image made me go wow.

Beautiful! I agree with Len's crit. Also, I think the background should remain consistant throughout. The dark shape behind the mother may be interpeted as something else, my son pointed that out. Sorry. This is a wonderful and heartfelt illustration. I am completely drawn to parent and child images...

Nice. I like how you used value to seperate the two characters. Good composition. I like how several of the images lines move us to the focal point first, then to the character in the background. My only crit would be: I don't think you need the tear (it doesn't tell us any more than the gesture alr...

Thanks for sharing, nice drawings. I really enjoyed your cafe and room sketches. I like seeing figure studies, however I really enjoy seeing what people like and choose to draw in a less formal setting. How they compose an image and what they find interesting. Thanks, Well done.

These are really nice. I enjoy the photo-composits. It's an excellent way to work, especially when you are taking your own images. And these are nicely done. I do think that when you introduce the boy in the third one to show scale, it will really finish that one off. Nice presentation.
