But Molson is an embarassment to the Canadian brewing tradition! Couldn't He have given out Propeller Bitter or Red Cap or Granville Island's Kitsilano Maple Cream Ale?

I like to imagine that the astronaut is, like, the Hugh Hefner of orbital space stations.

I believe copyright is currently retained for 50 years after the death of the author for Canadian works and 70 or 75 years after the death of the author in the States. I don't know about the UK, but I assume the timeline is similar. So, look up the year of death, I guess.

A parody isn't copyright/trademark infringement as long as it's sufficiently different so as not to be mistaken for the original property and one isn'...

Also, I thought it was 1 in 10 people are either gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, or questioning. That's the stat you usually hear. However, I would expect that LGBT folks are underrepresented in social surveys because, if they are still closeted, they aren't likely to tell some random social s...

I'm sticking with my previous claim. Essentialisms are bad. It's what anti-racist, feminist, post-colonialist, and queer activists and theorists have been telling us for decades now. And I'd prefer to throw my lot in with them than anyone who would claim that "black people are like w ," "women are l...

Well, you had to be able to provide a Canadian address. I don't know how they would figure out whether you actually live there.

I recommend:

That was neat.

Has anyone seen Begone Dull Care by Norman Maclaren? He does a similar kind of thing in that, in terms of, I guess, expressionistically animating to a jazz soundtrack (in his case, Oscar Peterson). It's pretty awesome.

The issue with trademark is always whether the resemblence is close enough as to create confusion and thus damage the business of the trademark holder. I would expect there wouldn't be a lot of problems here. Of course, Michael T. Gilbert's Mr. Monster is very closely based on a Golden Age Canadian ...
