Lauren Kennedy sings JRB

http://www.amazon.com/Songs-Jason-Robert-Lauren-Kennedy/dp/B00008BL6G I have been listening to more and more mellow pieces lately (probably because I'm starting to draw a rather depressing story segment), and came across this album. I write musical theater a fair amount myself, and have been a fan ...

Re: Digitally Drawing Comics

I've had the exact same problems doing digital, especially with control over different images. I don't draw digitally as much as I do manually, but I often touch up or go over all of my pieces to a certain extent. Pretty much all of my linework is done manually, because I also don't like the loss of...

Re: New Story: Living with Ape

Geez, it has been a long time since I've updated this. I have been extremely busy and have completed scripting this story, and am in the process of doing the final illustrations and cleanups. The story and characters have evolved a little, but not too much. The character Boine carries into what will...

Here's an old piece I found lying around on my computer. Must've done it when I didn't know how to actually use the scanner properly.

New Story: Living with Ape

I've been in the progress of writing a new piece called "Living with Ape." It focuses on a young man with severe OCD and minor ADHD, and a young woman named April. I've considered drawing some of it myself, but I am still looking for an artist if it ever gets off the ground. Here's a rough I did on ...

Can someone Recommend a Digital Art program?

This year, one of my relatives saw fit to give me a lovely Wacom drawing tablet. I've always had an interest in digital art, but never in creating it. However, I'd like to get on the horse and give it a go. Right now, all that I own on my computer is MS Paint and an illegal (shh, don't tell anyone) ...

Jump!

This is something that I doodled and inked periodically over the course of a week whenever I had a shred of spare time (I have to prepare the family place for Thanksgiving. Sorry about the quality, I'm just terrible when it comes to scanners, and I'm still trying to figure the new one out. http://i1...

Interesting!

I have to say, I love this. Personally, I think that while the momentum is great, pg. 4's sequence is a little confusing. Whereas the other pages have some obvious space that can replace any border, the first two portions of the page feel almost like a single panel, if only because the first presses...

I personally prefer stuff that is willing to stay solid with both the art and the writing (not a fan of manga, for some reason). For example, I loved Blankets. I'm looking for more stuff like that. I'm always open to new material, though, so I'd love any recommendations.

Ellsworth: "American Compost"

look for it on iTunes or whatever you use. I found this album, and thought it's not a total masterpiece (in my opinion), it's got some really inspirational songs. The lyrics in "American Compost" are really great. It's a wonderful unappreciated mix to just listen to when you have nothing to do. Also...

a new GN source?

I usually peruse Borders first when I can catch the bus to the bigger towns, and then I check out local nerderies, but so far, I can't find much to interest me. They have plenty of big names and some smaller good stuff (I actually found a copy of Daisy Kutter in a store behind a bar, which surprised...

teehee

This is definitely something people can look at and go "ouch, heee!"

the simplistic timing puts this together great. a good read. (I agree about panel separation, tho)
