Burn After Reading

i have never laughed so hard during the final scene of a movie my entire life. this movie was brilliant, yet i feel like i never want to see it again to sanctify that. possibly knowing the ins and outs; the what-have-yous, of a coen brothers film detracts from the movement therein. i don't know. if ...

my dad and i played that game religiously for five years probably.

also, this comic reminds me of the book War In The Air by H.G. Wells, for some reason.

i spent some time at expressions in emeryville this past week and i was kind of disappointed by what i saw hanging on the walls in their animation departments.

Space War Blues by Richard Lupoff is my favorite science fiction novel i think. i loved Starship Troopers and Armor, as well. i actually bought Space War Blues because of the cover. the front of the book is a man wearing a skin tight jumpsuit in the design of a confederate flag, holding a space pist...

this movie is sort of based on an f. scott fitzgerald short story of the same name. i read somewhere one time that fitzgerald wrote it because he heard mark twain talking about how the best part of life is at the beginning and the worst part at the end.

I think I'm gonna wait until the hype dies down and it's in the bargain bin at best buy. Pretty sure that's the only way I'll enjoy it. Shyamalan is really hit-or-miss for me. Signs was pretty underwhelming, The Sixth Sense felt like a parody of itself by the time I saw it, and The Village was dull...

pitching a manuscript

how does an artist prefer to be approached with a manuscript, or even and idea or plot?

i have noticed that a lot of publishers with an open and unsolicited submission policy require that the submissions come with the art done. what about writers with no sequential art skills?

n the last one... it's a strange effect with the very stylised trees and the lady and the more realistic approach on the tree in the foreground and the scooter. I'm not gonna say what I think about it because I honestly am not all that sure, it's just...strange. But overall I like them all, especia...
