I agree! I really love those library stacks isolated in the water. What a cool concept.

Thank you! So much. I like the idea of the normal that all of a sudden becomes implausible. As for the schedule, I'm part of a Ph.D. creative writing program and we have a monthly reading series. For a long time I've been creating a minicomic twice a year, once in October and once in February. I sho...

Yeah. It's kind of a Craig Thompsonian conceit, isn't it. I hoped it conveyed a piece of dialogue that was being played closer to the hand. I wanted it to feel a little more quiet or a little more intimate.

But it is weird choice. You're right. Maybe I'll revisit it. :)

Oh wow! I love that last one! That and the first one are my favorites. But I really like the way your line quality works with the buildings and especially the telephone wires.

How do you put in your colors? Photoshop?

Awesome!

Any suggestions for what I could do to make it (or future comics) stronger? I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I would suggest you work to improve your draftsmanship. Yes, the simplicity of your lines and the strength and originality of your story worked well. But I think you could improve yo...

Rich,

Now they're showing up as broken links, at least for me.

I really like the feel of these pieces! I love that combination of rough line work and the overlay of color fields. It's a great look, IMO.

Mos def w/ the bigger pictures. I like what I see and I'd love to see more!

Thanks so much, everyone! It's definitely reaffirming to hear your nice thoughts. I'm really glad people like the storytelling! Any suggestions for what I could do to make it (or future comics) stronger?

Again, thanks for the kind words!

Absolutely awesome! I love the line quality. Some of the panels are perfectly expressive: the second-to-last panel with the dog that everyone has mentioned, but also the panel where he has a box over his head. Great eyes in that one. The only panel I don't love, perhaps, is the last one. I like the ...

These are really, really fantastic. Really sad and pensive and thoughtful in the way that they don't tie up neatly, in an expected sort of way. I love the zoom out to scenery as a way of opening up meaning, like in the Remembering one. And I really love the umbrella strip and the overlay of text whe...

New Minicomic: Grasshopper

Hi everyone, This is my first comic that I've posted here. I started drawing this comic at 6:00 last Wednesday morning, drew for good portions of the day, went to bed at 4:00AM and woke up at 7:00 Thursday morning. I worked on it until 10:00 when I had to get ready to go teach. I got home at 3:40 an...
