Re: Top 10 CD's for Creative Thinking

Like many others here, I also tend to make specific mixes for various type of work, though I prefer no background music when I'm writing. When I'm drawing however, I like to listen to mostly soundtracks and moody rock/ambient stuff: -any Ghibli soundtracks by Joe Hisaishi (Princess Mononoke and Lapu...

Re: Sorta legal question

I have a similar question, so thought I would just add to the legal thread. I'm currently working on a story that is music-related. I was wondering if there's any rule when it comes to bringing up band and song names that actually exist in real life? I only intend to use them as pop reference, and w...

Re: Ponyo on a Cliff (2008)

Does anyone know if there're any theaters in Los Angeles that are screening Ponyo subtitled rather than dubbed? I'm going to watch it either way, since I'm a huge Miyazaki fan, but I prefer to see it in Japanese if possible.

I don't believe the monster was shooting fireballs at the beginning. It was most likely an oil tank explosion triggered by the monster's attack. Overall, I liked the movie a lot. It's interesting to watch a monster flick from the POV of regular folks trying to survive (instead of the stereotypical "...

I know what you mean...I think my favorite is still OK Computer (although I like all their albums). I kind of like that In Rainbows feels more personal and relatable than their other new stuff. Plus, their method of distribution is pretty badass! :)

Radiohead's "In Rainbows"

I just listened to Radiohead's new album "In Rainbows," which was finally released today! You can order the full download from their official website and pay however much you want. The songs are simply beautiful. Highly recommended!

Cool, thank you, both of you...that helps a lot. One more question for you though, rohwer. Do you have a written contract when it comes to your copyrights or is spoken agreement just as good?

Now I just need to concentrate on coming up with a good design. :)

advice on working for free?

My friend is currently developing a children's book for her tutoring curriculum, and she asked me if I'd be interested in creating a character for her class and book series (ala Doraemon). I'm thrilled to have such an opportunity, and even though she has brought up compensation matter, I have pretty...

Hello everyone,

My name is Wing and am a huge fan of the Flight series. Currently I'm working as a VFX compositor but I enjoy drawing comics and illustrations on the side for fun. I have tons of art-related questions waiting to be asked, so I'm really glad I found this little(?) forum. :)
