Re: Amulet 3 - The cloud searchers with Dust jacket

I see. Thanks for enlightening me Kazu. I had no idea it could be like that.
You'll have at least one customer :) if you decide to go for a limited print run.

Amulet 3 - The cloud searchers with Dust jacket

Hello, I was quite late in getting my copy of the book and ended up with what I think is called a library binding. As my two other copies are the nicely bound first editions with dust jackets I'd like to get hold of an equally nicely bound edition of The cloud searchers. So I was wondering if there'...

Re: Nothing is Forgotten - Part 8 (update 12/06)

Very, very nice! I like this a lot. Especially how you can see the paper fabric and (water colour?). It kind of reminded me of an old childrens book from Ireland up until the creature exited the tree. As you said wordless comic, I was kind of surprised when you had a THUD! suddenly in there. I wonde...

Re: The Pirate Cruncher

Hey Jonny!
These look great. I really like how you have polished your loose concept art style into these illustrations.
Glad to see that you have managed to move further in the direction you want to go! Are amazon in the UK selling your books? Or can I get a copy somewhere else?

Re: NEW ILLUSTRATIONS (project)

I was thinking about the hero look of both. Strong jaw, long blondish hair. I know it's a sweeping statement though.
But eden, wasn't that closer to mesopotamia - Iran?
I guess I mostly reacted to the fact that it's so common to see bible illustrations with mostly western looking humans.

Re: NEW ILLUSTRATIONS (project)

I like your graphic design a lot. But to me what would bring it a notch higher would be to refrain from using western stereotypical humans. It looks like a filmatization of the bible with american actors. Now if you are aiming for a satirical view on that then by all means go on. Otherwise, I think ...

I don't think I've ever said so here. But I absolutely love your copper series Kazu!
You have found just the right mix of metaphor and story.

I can so much relate to this one.

Everything from studio 4º is worth checking out. Satoshi Kon is someone else worth noting too. If you haven't seen Tekkon Kinkreet yet I guess that should be at the top of your list.

I haven't chimed in before. Just wanted to add that I love what you are doing. One of the favourites is the big building/train track thingy with the little truck ontop. I don't know if I should say this, but I've found that big white squares and FG can make for pretty cool things. Maybe you should e...

I like that. How about giving the eyes the same treatment?
With the new additions the eyes look a bit pasted on.
