As dark as it is, Takk has some of the prettiest music they've made. If I ran the universe, Hoppipolla would be the song they play in malls every Christmas. As an aside, if you like music by high voiced European types, you might also enjoy Mew. Much more of a rock band (veering towards prog, in fact...

For me, probably OK Computer, followed by The Bends, followed by (drum roll) Hail to the Thief, which I think strikes a really good balance between the "old" and "new" Radiohead. Also, I saw 'em at the Hollywood Bowl last year and not only were they fantastic, but also played a skin tingling version...

Got the album...it's really very good. Best first track of any album in forever, really gets you in the mood.

Going to see 'em at the Troubadour tomorrow night, hooray!

Personally, I'd give the "struggling artist" thing a go . I spent my first few post-college years as a freelance writer and, while I was broke and more than a little stressed most of the time, it was invaluable nonetheless -- I grew as a person, as an artist and gained a more life and art skills tha...

I've always loved Brocolli...I think more due to my mother's Scanners-esque mind powers than anything to do with taste or texture. Fresh Brocolli from the farmers market, tossed with a little penne, some squash, garlic, parmesan and olive oil -- perfect meal. Oddly enough, Brussel Sprouts were a fav...

Yeah, it probably is dark brown, but jet black sounded so much more...um...tarlike. Yep, Vegemite, it's like eating salty tar!

Ahh....Vegemite. As an Englishman, I should be morally opposed to it on multiple levels, but sometimes even I have to close my eyes, put on one of them cork hat things and succumb to its yeasty goodness.

Marmite's easier to spread though...slightly more liquidy, like jet black mustard.

Kazu, as always, you've managed to state what I was thinking in a far more eloquent manner than I could ever have managed, you bastard you  To further that, I am currently working with several ex-Disney people, including a few who were involved in Dinosaur and Treasure Planet (two films tha...

It'll be interesting to see how, or even if, this brings changes to what we consider the Pixar house style. Not that I'm expecting them to produce "Throb Cocksley and the Tiger Print Nut Sling o' Death" or somesuch, but it'll be interesting to see if they're going to branch out in any new directions...
