Are you talking about the sculpture that was life size, so people claimed he "cheated" because it was too realistic, and then he got pissed off and had to make a larger than life one to prove himself? XD

studying Rodin...

I never went to art school, nor studied art history, so now I'm looking into it a bit. I'd heard of Rodin, but I didn't know he worked in the latter 1800s. Actually I thought he was a painter... I didn't know he was a sculptor. Now I need to learn more about him. ^o^ I drew this based on a photo of ...

You could go back and darken up some of the shadows now that they're dry, if you want. Since you seem to be using heavy watercolor paper, I don't think it will hurt it any. You can also cheat and alter stuff in Photoshop if you're going to use the end result digitally anyway (won't help the original...

I think they're pretty.

I like the medium of watercolor, but of course it's a major pain to control.

Well, the people I've worked for in that regard were(are) both published writers, but published in the sense of articles, text based novels, and movie scripts and such, not print comics. So... I think they're trying to sell the idea first, and details like art second. One of them writes for a humor ...

I've worked under two writers so far that specifically asked for "character sketches"... apparently to put in with the pitch materials. What on earth the editors saw, I don't know. I just did what I was asked. From now on I'll tell people they need to have some finished comic pages in whateve...

I did final sequential pages for another project, which was happily accepted [by another editor], but that was for a project which specifically requested a certain number of pages. Writers keep asking me for character designs. Should I be telling them "No, stupid, you need to show editors finished p...

Advice for making comic pitch submissions?

I've recently gotten into a professional relationship with an author (published several novels) who wants to do a bunch of comics. He wants me to be the illustrator, and is in the process of trying to find future "homes" (paying publishers) for the various stories. SO.. since I'm just semi-pro (self...

Actually it's... *looks* 424 pages. I went back and numbered them a few chapters ago because people kept asking how many pages I had, and I didn't know. ^o^ I think when I have 50 chapters I'll be at pro status. Or dead. I'm not sure which. I'm gonna start printing volumes through Lulu soon. Hopeful...
